  6. This archive contains the original (almost, see below) distribution of
  7. the trial version of SID2, taken from the Amiga Computing cover disk
  8. from June 1992.

  10. Recently (Jan/Feb '99) a thread has again been running in the newsgroup
  11. comp.sys.amiga.applications about SID. Among other things it was asked
  12. how to get hold of SID2, and since it doesn't seem to be on Aminet
  13. already, I decided to upload it.

  15. According to the file "Distribution", it can be freely distributed
  16. subject to a few restrictions. The only one which could be discussed in
  17. this case is the following:

  19.   2) All of the files must be included in their original form without
  20.      additions, deletions, or modifications of any kind.

  22. I have archived all the files from the SID2 directory on the original
  23. cover disk plus the drawer icon without making any modifications, except
  24. for one thing: Five of the files were crunched with PowerPacker, they
  25. have been decrunched before the whole thing was archived.

  27. My excuse for uncrunching these files is that PowerPacker is not nearly
  28. as common among users today as it was in 1992, and since the whole thing
  29. is LhA'ed anyway, it wouldn't have saved any space worth mentioning. I
  30. do not regard this as a modification, but merely as a changed method of
  31. representation. I assume this is acceptable and in the spirit of the
  32. conditions.

  34. Finally, I can not take any responsibility for the contents of this
  35. archive. I just took it from the old cover disk, virus checked it,
  36. decrunched the five files as mentioned above, archived it and uploaded
  37. it.

  40. the newsgroups etc., don't ask me. I just happened to have the cover
  41. disk lying around ;-)
